Our Mission

Building a sustainable community for women in need of an alternative solution to ending violence”

Standing on Simora’s Shoulders is an organization devoted to protecting human dignity. Our mission addresses two issues: First, to improve the lives of women and children threatened by acts of violence in developing countries and to education the public on these issues. Second, addressing food shortages through planning and development of a sustainable agricultural community. Through a sustainable design, we aim to build a secure and enriching community for those seeking assistance to end the cycle of violence that encompasses their life.

The vision

It is our ambition to provide a peaceful and sustainable community in which women and children can regain control of their lives and individuality after having faced malicious acts of violence, not limited to those who are in great risk of cruelty, honor crimes and unjust cultural persecution.  It is common for many young women and children to become targets of violence and not receive the protection or justice they deserve and require. Though the violence is not limited to developing nations, we have seen the greatest number of reports surfacing from those countries. To name a few, India, Cambodia and Bangladesh are amongst the countries that were reported to have high percentages of human rights violations.

It is a human right to live a dignified life without fear and violence and to have a right to justice for actions against our bodies and character. We live in a time where compassion and the effort to overcoming great tribulations for half of the world’s population is scarce but our humanity is dependent upon creating and enforcing an equal and safe world for all individuals.  Through the provisions of a safe community and secured resources, we have the ability to achieve equal rights and minimize violence against women.

Through our community, individuals in our care will be protected and have a chance to rehabilitate and flourish their individuality. Programs will be created to assist individuals with developing life skills, rehabilitating and counseling, and education. SOSS concurrently aims to educate the world of these atrocities and promote human rights for all persons.

We see a world undivided by gender. We can envision a world that grants every human being a chance to compete. We see a world that allow every human being to become the best person they can be without having to compromise their integrity and their children because of economics or fear of violence. We see a world that is full of love and compassion despite the differences. We see a world that can prevail past hate and ignorance and will encompass nothing but love and opportunity for all.

The power of human empathy, leading to collective action, saves lives, and frees prisoners. Ordinary people, whose personal well-being and security are assured, join together in huge numbers to save people they do not know and will never meet. . . unlike any other creature on this planet, humans can learn and understand, without having experienced. They can think themselves into other people’s places. . . We do not need magic to change the world, we carry all the power we need inside ourselves already: we have the power to imagine better.
